AGRITECH EU has reached Andalusian television audiences thanks to the contribution of its Spanish partners, who recently showcased the project on Canal Sur’s technology and innovation program “En Red”.
The episode highlighted the development of a pioneering real-time digital twin of a greenhouse created at the University of Almería, an initiative integrated within the AGRITECH EU framework. The system combines smart sensors, environmental data, and immersive technologies to create a fully interactive virtual replica of a greenhouse environment.
Broadcast on Canal Sur’s Andalucía Televisión, “En Red” focused on how digital innovation is transforming the agricultural sector in southern Spain and positioning Andalusia at the forefront of smart farming technologies. The program presented the project as an example of how European collaboration can support sustainable agriculture, digital education, and resource optimization.
The feature also emphasized the educational and research value of the platform, which allows students, researchers, and professionals to simulate real agricultural scenarios through virtual and augmented reality tools. By integrating advanced digital solutions into agricultural training, AGRITECH EU contributes to preparing the next generation of agronomists and agri-tech professionals for the challenges of Agriculture 4.0.
Being featured on a regional broadcaster such as Canal Sur represents another important milestone in increasing the visibility of AGRITECH EU and sharing its impact with wider audiences across Spain and Europe.
